Doppio Zero started its journey in March 2002, when entrepreneurs Paul and Miki opened a small bakery and al fresco café in Greenside. What made this place special was its freshly baked artisan ciabatta—the aroma alone kept people coming back. Over time, this little bakery evolved into a full-service Mediterranean-inspired restaurant.
Now, Doppio Zero has grown to include restaurants in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Umhlanga, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town , Polokwane & Nelspruit and even Botswana. Despite the expansion, they’ve never lost sight of what matters most: their customers, who they consider guests. Passionate about food, Doppio Zero is constantly developing their menu, bringing fresh ideas and seasonal ingredients to the table every season. They believe in the goodness of quality and the importance of 9innovation, always pushing for new, exciting flavours.
Doppio Zero’s dedication to their craft has led to continuous growth, and they’re excited to announce the opening of a new store in New Market, Alberton. They will be opening 4 new stores before the end of 2024 , one of which will be the first Halaal store in Florida Road , Durban. With each new location, they continue to bring contemporary, fresh Mediterranean moments to the communities they serve.
