The Monthly Load: Spring Into Better Planning
Refrigerated transport. Thoughtful planning. Reliable delivery.
Spring always brings fresh energy. Longer days, new growth and the perfect opportunity for a good clean-up. At LMC Express, it also signals that our busiest period is nearly here. Transport demand traditionally increases from October to December, so September is the ideal month to make sure your transport arrangements are ready.
A few minutes spent checking your client profile, expected volumes and booking habits now can prevent delays and last-minute pressure later. Let’s head into peak season prepared, positive and ready to move.
Spring-Clean Your Transport Profile
Use this quick six-point check before October:
- Addresses: Are your collection and delivery addresses still correct?
- Contacts: Are your operational, warehouse and accounts contacts up to date?
- Routes and rates: Are the routes you need active, and have you checked the applicable rates?
- Booking cut-off: Does everyone who books transport know that bookings must be submitted by 15:00 on the day before collection?
- Pallet quantities: Are booked quantities accurate so that the correct deck space can be allocated?
- Peak volumes: Have you discussed your expected October to December requirements with LMC Express?
Operational Heads-Up
Please submit online bookings by 15:00 on the day before collection. Planning begins at 16:00, and late bookings may be scheduled for the next available collection day. For Monday collections, bookings may be submitted by 15:00 on Sunday.
Why Accurate Pallet Quantities Matter
Our planning system allocates truck deck space according to the number of pallets booked. If the actual consignment is larger than the booking, the planned vehicle may not have enough room — affecting your collection and potentially other clients on the route. Accurate bookings help us plan the right vehicle, reduce avoidable delays and keep the day running smoothly.
Behind the Scenes: Spring Planning
Before a truck arrives at your door, our Planning and Fleet Control teams are already balancing collection areas, delivery commitments, vehicle capacity, product temperature requirements and route timing. During peak season, every correct detail matters. Your early, accurate booking gives the team the best possible starting point and helps turn a complex daily puzzle into a reliable transport plan.
Quick Tip: If you expect a seasonal spike, tell us before the bookings start arriving. A forecast does not need to be perfect. An early indication is already useful.
Spring Quiz: What grows faster in spring? A) Daisies B) Grass C) Last-minute bookings. Answer: C — unless we plan early!
