BM Food Manufacturers – Motivating Excellence 

In 2006, two family businesses merged to form BM Food Manufacturers, a significant and major player in the food industry. These businesses were Mediterranean Delicacies and Bettafresh Prepared Foods.

Through multiple acquisitions since their inception, they have secured a wide range of products, from ready-to-eat meals to pre-portioned ingredients. Their product range includes fresh salads, sauces, soups, meal solutions and processed vegetables. BM Food Manufacturers has an impressive list of clients. They supply major retailers, independent retailers, specialist delis, caterers, the hospitality and foodservice industries, food manufacturers, local and international airlines and many other customers. Added to this, they continue to expand into new markets, both domestically and internationally.

BM Foods acquired Tuna Marine Foods in September 2016. This Western Cape-based food manufacturer has been producing quality olive and pickled products for more than fifty years. Their Tuna Marine and Judy’s brands are well-established and well-loved.

BM Foods partnered up with a young, dynamic team at the end of 2020 to form Alliance Food Services, a national distributor of ambient food services (the production of food that can safely be stored at room temperature). Alliance Foods has branches in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Cape Harvest Foods, a subsidiary of Sea Harvest, acquired a controlling interest in BM Foods in 2021. As a result, the company is now open to organic and acquisitive growth.

Approximately 700 people work on more than 600 different fresh product lines.
