Teamwork is Dreamwork

Teamwork is Dreamwork

“Behind every successful organization is the team of people who made it happen.’’ This excellent quote from an article by Talent Partners, Executive Search Consultants, aptly describes LMC Express.

As a company with strong teams and passionate employees invested in the organisation, LMC Express has come a long way from just being a transport company.

We are now a proud service provider of part loads/pallet loads in the FMCG industry on all the major routes in RSA.

After researching and reading countless articles on Teamwork, I have concluded that although teamwork can be difficult to achieve, it is a beautiful process to witness.

To achieve teamwork at its best, you need:

  • Leaders who are inclusive, future-minded and who can envisage possibilities.
  • Employees should know the values and purpose of the company, and how it contributes to the goals of the organisation.
  • Well-developed and structured teams
  • Learning and development opportunities need to be created to inspire growth experiences in an individual and within teams.

At LMC Express, our core values include:

  • Honesty
  • Reliability
  • Teamwork
  • Competency
  • Fun
  • Being solution driven
  • Passionately hardworking

We connect our core values to our work and daily interactions, recognise our employees and create a culture of feedback and open communication at LMC Express. We develop our teams by offering personalised coaching to empower not only themselves but as a team that works together for the common goal… ‘Success!’

“What does teamwork mean to you?” I asked members of our team this question and their answers truly humbled me to see how much they love and care for each other.

Thobeka – “It means working together, sharing ideas, boosting each other when projects get difficult, good communication, fun and working together to provide the best outcome we can.”

Jabu – “Working together, sharing ideas and opinions, building a friendship.”

Njabulo – “It is a number of people who have the same vision for success.”

Brianne – “Teamwork to me means peaceful collaboration, with mature and professional, communication, where we can rely on each other and trust each other to take ownership and accountability of our challenges and roles in general.

Kele – “I believe a team player appreciates others’ talent and skills, also transfers their own for the benefit of a team/company.”

Reshma – “For me teamwork means to support, appreciate, motivate each other.  Be a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on If need be.  If we all have a sound mind, then we will give our best.”

Chantal – “Teamwork happens when people work together towards a common goal. Teamwork requires an environment of mutual support and trust, where each member appreciates the strengths of others.”

My Favourite Team!

An everyday example of a successful team – The KZN Fleet Team.

Our company could not function without this team, organising the collections and deliveries in a timeous fashion and without any complications. These are the faces our clients see daily, and I have received countless compliments on our Fleets’ professionalism and smiles.

Teamwork starts with us, as we grow together, we become stronger together and together we can achieve DREAMWORK!

“In Africa there is a concept known as Ubuntu – the profound sense that we are human only through the humanity of others; that if we are to accomplish anything in this world it will in equal measure be due to the work and achievements of others.” — Nelson Mandela – “Ubuntu – I am because we are.”
